Wait and See? Innovate? Reinvent? Dramatically Change?

I see our current global situation as a time when we should not waste a minute.  We cannot risk being unprepared for a new landscape that could mean a drastic change in what we do for a living.  We may also
fail to see a fantastic opportunity.

It is fine to take time to relax, to sleep, to cry, to laugh, to exercise, to cook, to share with loved ones and
to reconnect.  However, it is also a time to examine our businesses, careers and personal situations. It is key to determine, if what we do as a business and/or occupation, is sustainable during and after this crisis.

It is easy to just wait and see and worry. This approach, in my opinion, can be detrimental.  It could even be more damaging if the correct path is to innovate or to make a change.  Going through the motions or working without a clear vision is a risky behavior.  Avoiding to explore alternatives to face an uncertain future does not help either.  These are chancy approaches that could deliver devastating outcomes.

Change is hard for many people.   Nonetheless,  I am afraid that not recognizing that a new strategy needs to be implemented, can leave an organization or a person lost.  It could additionally create  a precarious situation and many times even the feeling of a loss of identity.

This is a good time to think ahead.  An opportunity  to take a non-emotional approach when analyzing where our current industry or occupation stands.   Reach a conclusion on where it is going.  Some businesses will be forever affected by this health crisis.  Some others will simply disappear.  Some will soar and some will be born.  We just need to be alert, explore, envision, plan and take action.
